Won’t stop for even a second

What can I do about that ticking
That ticking that won’t stop

If I pull the cord of that clock over there
That ticking will stop

If I march into the kitchen rip the clock off the wall
Gouge out its batteries stomp the clock

TICK

That ticking will stop
But … no matter

TICK

If I make a life out of killing every tick of every clock I find
In the end
