Overland Park ? Free State High’s golf team placed seventh at the Olathe East Invitational on Wednesday at Overland Park Golf Club.

Catherine Smith (95), Kelly Morris (102), Mallory Cox (116) and Serena O’Connor (119) shot season-best rounds. Jenny Salvatore shot 97. Free State totaled 410 strokes, a season-best mark.

“Against pretty good competition, we had four girls shoot season lows and had a team season low. We shot well today,” coach Craig Hershiser said.

FSHS will compete at regionals Monday at Alvamar. Other teams at the regional are: Lawrence, Shawnee Heights, Leavenworth, Highland Park, Topeka High, Topeka West and Topeka Seaman.
