Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police arrived at a residence in the 300 block of Elm Street shortly after midnight Friday to see 10 people running away from the area. Officers found two suspects and discovered the front door of the house was damaged and windows were broken. The suspects reportedly came to the home to settle an earlier dispute and were armed with a gun and baseball bats. Police didn’t find a gun and were still looking for two other people connected to the incident.

Burglaries and Thefts reported

¢ 800 block of Maine: Lawrence police were called to investigate the theft of a purse, an iPod and a digital camera stolen from a vehicle between 8 p.m. on May 23 and 9 a.m. on May 24. A rock was used to smash the window of the car, causing $300 in damage.

Injury accidents

¢ A 47-year-old Topeka woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital at 9:44 p.m. Thursday after she swerved her 2007 Honda away from a deer on the Kansas Turnpike and struck a barrier wall near milepost 206, about two miles east of the East Lawrence exit.

Jolynn Beilman was taken by Leavenworth County emergency responders to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with chest and head injuries. She was treated and released.
