A 29-year-old Lawrence resident, Jerry D. Hamilton Jr., was flown by air ambulance to an area hospital Tuesday after he lost control of a motorcycle and crashed.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m. near Lawrence Industrial Park in North Lawrence.

Hamilton, who was not wearing a helmet and has a suspended driver’s license, lost control near North Iowa Street. The 1992 Suzuki is owned by Daniel Caton, who told police that Hamilton was test-driving the motorcycle.

Hamilton will be cited with reckless driving, according to a police report.

A nursing supervisor at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., said she could not release Hamilton’s condition.
