Therapists attend recent seminars

Cindy Johnson, owner of TherapyWorks, and Jennifer Brown, an occupational therapist for the business, recently attended professional events.

Johnson attended a Private Practice Prosperity Conference, sponsored by Survival Strategies Inc., that attracted more than 200 physical therapists and private practice owners. The event focused on providing high-quality care to patients and how to operate a prosperous practice; the event also included panel discussions about practices employed by successful clinics from across the country.

Johnson opened TherapyWorks in 1994. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia and her master’s in exercise physiology/biomechanics from Kansas University.

Brown attended a course, “Update on Balance and Dizziness Disorders: Evaluation and Treatment,” that focused on inner ear anatomy and neurophysiology, plus the central nervous system, vision and the neuromuscular system and its effect on balance and function. The course also covered factors relating to balance and dizziness problems.

Brown received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University.
