Cub Scouts from Pack 3370, chartered to the Deerfield School PTA, participated in Webeleos Resident Camp sponsored by the Heart of America Council of the Boy Scouts. Nine Scouts from Pack 3370 attended the camp July 9-11 at Theodore Naish Scout Reservation near Bonner Springs. Those who participated were Alex Houston, Hunter Dedloff, John Bennett, Lucas Werner, Michael Edman and Stephen Fulton, second-year Webelos; and Brendan Phillips, Kenneth Palmer and Michael Quackenbush, first-year Webelos. Adult leaders who participated were Peter Houston, Wayne Dedloff, Nicolette Bennett, Rick Werner, Don Edmand, Clark Fulton, Chris Phillips, Caleb Palmer and Mark Quackenbush.

Matt Dominguez, William Harnar, Hunter Shawley and Joey Newhouse, of Webelos Den No. 7, Cub Scout Pack 3071, attended Webelos summer camp in July at the Theodore Naish Reservation in Bonner Springs.

Cub Scout Pack 3077, chartered to Sunflower School PTO, had a picnic and campfire July 7 at Camp Bromelsick. Scouts who attended were Jacob DiVilbiss, Lucas Mackey, Cole Greenwood, Gavin Greenwood, Cy Burghart, Cade Burghart, Michael Heschmeyer and Tony Cipollaro. Also in attendance were adult leaders and parents Rick and Clare Heschmeyer, Doug and MarSue Mackey, Mike Burghart, John and Kris Spencer, Greg and Carol DiVilbiss, and Tim and Kellie Greenwood.
The scouts and their parents participated in songs and storytelling as part of the activities.

BSA Venturing Crew 2052, chartered to St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church of Lawrence, gave more than 336 service hours to the Pelathe District Cub Scout Day Camp in June. They ran several stations including mud volleyball, softball, crafts, trading post and registration.
Crew members who helped out included Cortney Zinn, Desiree Zinn, Michelle Thomas, Elizabeth Love, Nicole Reiske, Christy Howard, JoAnna Male, Nadia Scruggs and Alexis Tommer. Adult leaders who helped out were Kim Zinn and Carrie Dominguez.
This summer, several crew members are serving as staff at the Theodore Naish Scout Reservation for Boy Scout Summer Camp. They include Clarissa Wagner, handicraft director, Becky Miller, trading post director, and Lissy Ridenour, dinning hall steward.
In June, the crew had a movie night campout at Douglas County Lake in Baldwin. Crew members who attended were Nadia Scruggs, Rebekah Hall and Lissy Ridenour. They were accompanied by adult leaders Lena Scruggs and Robin Robertson.
The crew meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. The crew is open to all young women ages 13-21. Those interested in additional information should contact Ralena McCurdy at 542-3050.
