Fishing report

Clinton Lake

Water .79 feet above normal and 80 degrees. Walleye good drifting jig and nightcrawler around Clinton Point area. Lots of small walleye are being caught. White bass fair vertically jigging Clinton Point Area and casting jigs off windy points. Channel catfish excellent using stinkbait, minnows and chicken liver in lake. Baited areas are producing lots of fish. Crappie fair on jigs. Minnows have been catching some fish as well.

Perry Lake

Channel catfish fair to good. Cats are mostly done spawning and are moving out to feed. Sauger fair. Work those rocky points; some nice ones in Rock Creek. Use crankbaits or twisters. White bass fair on rocky points with twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair to good on tube jigs or minnows in 10-16 feet of water around structure.

Fish feeders are in and feeding 7 and 8 a.m., noon and 7 and 8 p.m.

Lone Star Lake

Largemouth bass good. Anglers are picking up fish mainly on grubs. Channel catfish good using stinkbait, worms and minnows. Crappie fair casting grubs along weedbeds early morning and late evening. Bluegill fair using worm under bobber, and small jigs.

Douglas State Lake

Closed to fishing. Lake has been drained for repair of dam and valve/intake line. Repairs have been completed. Valve was closed June 26th. Lake will begin refilling during runoff events.

Leavenworth State Lake

Largemouth bass good using beetlespins. Crappie fair using beetlespins. Bluegill fair using worms, small spinners and jigs. Channel catfish fair using prepared baits, livers and nightcrawlers around feeders and off piers. Fish feeders and aerator are working.

Lake Shawnee

Channel catfish good using nightcrawlers, shad entrails, stinkbait and liver. Largemouth bass fair. Anglers are picking some bass up on crankbaits, jigs and plastic worms.

Pomona Lake

(Updated 6-16)

Channel catfish good in discharge area using cut shad and prepared baits, and off windy points using prepared baits. Also, try the fish feeders. Walleye fair off windy points and flats using jigs tipped with worm or minnows. White bass/wiper fair in the flats with large minnows, or trolling shad and jigs. Crappie fair to good using jigs or minnows, especially at night, but fish are moving back out. Note: Fish feeders are on.
