Bids were due in the spring for remodeling of the old Lawrence post office building at Seventh and New Hampshire (now the World Co. News Center). Kansas University Extension hoped to move into the old structure about July 1.

Robert Nottingham, first-grade teacher at Eudora Grade School, was named Douglas County Master Teacher for 1966 by a vote of the county teachers organization.
