Kate Moss slated to appear on cover of British Vogue

London – Kate Moss will appear on the cover of British Vogue, the latest sign of the supermodel’s comeback from drug allegations.

The magazine’s March issue features Moss in a delicate white dress against a pink backdrop.

It is the 21st time that Moss, 32, has graced Vogue’s cover, and the first since allegations of cocaine use in September.

Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman she was “delighted to have Kate on the cover of March Vogue.”

“It’s one of the most important issues of the year and we know that our readers are big fans of hers,” Shulman said.

Moss lost contracts with H&M, Burberry and Chanel after the Daily Mirror tabloid published pictures of her allegedly using cocaine in a west London music studio where her then-boyfriend, rock musician Pete Doherty, was recording with his group Babyshambles.

Boy George appears in court

New York – Boy George appeared briefly in criminal court to answer charges related to his October drug possession arrest.

Following a brief meeting at the bench between the pop singer’s attorney, Lewis Freeman, and prosecutor Craig Ortner on Wednesday, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Anthony Ferrara postponed the case to March 8.

Boy George, whose real name is George O’Dowd, wore a long black wool coat, black slacks, a black shirt and gray sneakers with white stripes, and sported a buzz-cut hairstyle and a large dark blue or black Star of David tattoo on the top of his head.

George, 44, was arrested Oct. 7 after he called 911 to report a burglary at his apartment. Police said officers found a small amount of cocaine next to a computer.

He has been free on bail pending a trial after being charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, allegedly more than an eighth of an ounce of cocaine.

The singer and his attorney say the drugs found in his apartment weren’t his.

Gucci taps new creative chief

Rome – Gucci has appointed 33-year-old Frida Giannini as creative chief, looking to fill the gap left by the departure of fashion superstar Tom Ford.

Gucci said Giannini, who began with the company as an accessories designer, was appointed sole creative director after Tuesday’s resignation of menswear designer John Ray.

The young designer from Rome became head of the accessories department when Ford left the company in 2004. Ford handled all design aspects of the label, but design was then split among Giannini, Ray and Alessandra Facchinetti, who later resigned.

Giannini presented her first women’s collection in Milan in September at the spring-summer 2006 shows, winning praise for a fresh and feminine look.
