Board approval

To the editor:

I applaud the courage of the six on the board to offer a challenge to evolution.

The mainstream media has misinterpreted their decision, and the six members on the board have been ruthlessly attacked for something they did not say. They did not decide to force the teaching of creationism in school.

The same people who claim to be clear thinking, no-religious, highly intelligent nonpartisans are the ones who are perpetrating lies about what the board actually decided.

Their hatred toward any dissenting view exposes the reality of their bias, which brings into question whether or not they are truly “scientific.”

Scientists should welcome dissent and discovery, isn’t that how Darwin came up with his theory?

Our children are being taught not to question, and if they do they are idiots.

Why do you think vouchers are becoming a popular idea? You can find private schools that believe in our children’s ability to critically think through these issues and will welcome the debate.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius told us all to remember the names of these six and go vote. I agree, and we should vote to keep them in.
