KU hospital offering healthy heart program

A new wellness and prevention program at University of Kansas Hospital, “How to Lower Your Risk for Heart Disease,” will provide a heart-healthy plan.

David Meyers, hospital cardiologist, will lead the free program from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the community room of KU MedWest, 7405 Renner Road, Shawnee.

Meyers will discuss the importance of knowing your blood pressure and cholesterol numbers, and he will outline other measures important to reducing heart disease risk.
