‘Rainbow Fish’ to be staged at Lied

More than 3,000 Lawrence-area kindergarten through second-grade students are expected to see “The Rainbow Fish,” an ArtsPower National Touring Theatre production based on the book by Marcus Pfister, March 3 at the Lied Center. The shows are at 9:45 a.m. and 1 p.m.

With his lovely coloring and special shimmering scales, the Rainbow Fish is used to being the most beautiful creature in the ocean. When the other fish ask him for some silver scales, he refuses. How can he sacrifice the one thing that makes him unique?

In ArtsPower’s musical adaptation of this classic tale, the Rainbow Fish experiences a joyful celebration of unselfish friendship and discovering one’s inner beauty likely to delight young audiences. The performances are for school audiences only. There are no tickets available to the general public.
