Katie and Steve Shaffer

Katie Miller and Steve Shaffer, both of Dallas, were married Oct. 17, 2003, at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas with the Rev. Paul Rasmussen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roderick and Karen Miller, Plano, Texas. The groom is the son of Dick and Harriet Shaffer, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Julie Smith. Best man was Brad Harker. Bridesmaids were Brooke Bothwell, Monica Diaz and Kristin Wrobel. Groomsmen were Mark Fagan, Grey Montgomery and Lance Lewis.

Ushers were Grant Martin, John Trupiano and Matt Krische. Susie Fagan was reader. Carol Shaffer was guest book attendant. Flower girls were Amanda Smith and Caroline Smith.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Dallas Petroleum Club.

The bride is a 1993 graduate of Plano Senior High School and a 1997 graduate of Baylor University. She is a teacher in the Plano school district.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1998 graduate of Kansas University. He is an architect for WRA Architects in Dallas.

The couple reside in Allen, Texas.

Brown-Houston

Marylou Brown and Brent Houston, both of Denver, were married Aug. 20, 2004, at the Wellshire Inn in Denver.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Mary Brown, East Long Meadow, Mass. The groom is the son of Elaine Houston, Lawrence, and the late B. Kent Houston.

Maid of honor was Christine Brown. Best man was Lance Russell. Bridesmaids were Marissa Jacobson, Cliona Jennings Levy, Valerie Wagner Long, Laura Nelson and Carrington Razook. Groomsman was Chris King. Flower girl was Hanna Denney.

A reception was given at The Wellshire Inn.

The bride is a graduate of East Longmeadow High School, Longmeadow, Mass. She graduated from Tufts University and the University of Virginia law school. She works at Denver Children’s Hospital.

The groom is a 1988 graduate of Lawrence High School. He graduated from Kansas University, Washburn University law school and the University of Missouri-Kansas City law school. He works for Benjamin, Bain & Howard in Denver.

The couple reside in Denver.

Babcock-Heafey

Brenda Babcock, Lawrence, and Robert Heafey, Fort Knox, Ky., were married Sept. 4, 2004, at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence with the Rev. David Livingston officiating.

The bride is the daughter of W. John and Carol Muirhead, Phoenix, and Cheryl Sellers, West Palm Beach, Fla. The groom is the son of Ron and Marie Heafey, and Mary Lou Heafey, all of Muskegon, Mich.

Maid of honor was Elaine Hagebush. Best man was Carlos Hernandez. Bridesmaid was Connie Buzzard. Groomsman was Augie Gabriel. Heather Thurber and Jessica Babcock, children of the bride, were guest attendants. Brian Heafey and Douglas Heafey, children of the groom, were ushers.

The bride is a graduate of Shawnee Heights High School, Topeka. She received an associate’s degree from Allen County Community College, Iola. She received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University and a master’s degree from Baker University. She is a project manager for DCCCA Evaluation Services.

The groom is a graduate of Ravenna High School in Ravenna, Mich. He joined the U.S. Army in 1985. He served overseas in Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He continues to serve military duty in Fort Knox, Ky. He is expected to retire in 2005.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Amelie Supera, Caen, France, and Joseph Patrick Donnally, Lawrence, were married Sept. 18, 2004, at the Church of St. Jean in Caen, France, with the Rev. Leon Baucher officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jean-Luc and Annie Supera, St. Agnan le Malherbe, France. The groom is the son of Reaumur and Mary Donnally, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Anne-Laure Supera. Best man was Christopher Donnally. Bridesmaid was Jennifer Donnally. Groomsmen were Timothy Donnally and Pierre-Yves Schneider.

A reception was given at Chateau de Brouay, Normandy.

Joseph and Amelie Donnally

The bride attended Charles de Gaule School. She received a Master of Science degree in 2002 from ESC-Clermont and a Master of Business Administration degree in 2002 from Kansas University. She is an auditor for Tuillet Associates in Paris.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 and a Master of Business Administration in 2003 from KU. He attends ESCP-EAP in Paris.

The couple met on a KU study abroad program in China. They reside in Paris.

Noll-Berry

Lindsay Noll, Oskaloosa, and Matt Berry, Emporia, were married July 31, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church in Emporia with the Rev. Jayne Duncan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Cherrie Noll, Oskaloosa. She is the granddaughter of Charlie and Barb Pence, Winchester; Westine Noll, McLouth; and Lester Noll, Nortonville. Her great-grandmother is Ethel Moon, Winchester. The groom is the son of Jeff and Sandy Berry, Emporia, and Kim Berry, Henderson, Nev. He is the grandson of F.M. and Dorothy Buetzer, Oregon, Mo.

Maid of honor was Jenny Lindsay. Bride’s attendants were Christi Clark, Toni Meyer and Olivia Childs. Best man was Erren Harter. Groom’s attendants were Brady Stephens, Scott Tajchman and Bill Noll. Flower girl was Lauren Gould. Ring bearer was Thane Barker. Candle lighters were Emily and Allison Bertles. Ushers were Joseph Berry, Stacey Calvert, Luke Warkentine and Taylor Barker. Musician was Tyler Bosiljevac. Reader was Ame Ward. Guestbook attendant was Lacy Larimer. Program attendant was Thadd Barker.

A reception was given at Bluestem Hall in Emporia. Gift attendants were Robyn Rusco and Callie Greenwood. Cake servers were Cathy Noll and Carol Tajchman.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Emporia State University. She is a teacher at Kingman Elementary School. The groom received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Emporia State. He works for the Mental Health Assn. in Wichita.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They reside in Garden Plain.

Andrea Christine Stoneback and Aaron Ballard Kelley, both of Lawrence, were married May 29, 2004, at South Park in Lawrence with Bishop Dean Wilson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Jill Stoneback, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Mark and Teresa Kelley, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Kircher. Best man was Gordon Snyder.

Ushers were Bill Stoneback and Justin Kelley.

A reception was given after the ceremony at the Ramada Inn of Lawrence with music provided by Michael Roark.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is a third-year engineering student at Kansas University.

Aaron and Andrea Kelley

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is employed by Martin-Logan LTD.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Discovery Bay, Wash., and Victoria, Canada. They reside in Lawrence.

Koplik-Williams

Kristen Koplik and Brian Williams, both of Lawrence, were married Oct. 25, 2003, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center with the Revs. John Schmeidler and Jan Keeler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kathleen Koplik, Boston, and the late Dr. Stanley Koplik. The groom is the son of John and Suz Williams, Olathe.

Maid of honor was Jessica Cichy. Best man was Robert Stumpff. Bridesmaids were Whitney Fox, Susan Thomsen and Ashley Grill. The groom’s attendants were Matt Hampel, Amy Kelly and Joshua Koplik.

Ushers were Ben Nash and Jason Nash. Guest book attendants were Jennifer Presley and Jennifer Hernbloom.

A reception was given at Alvamar Country Club.

The bride is a 1993 graduate of Topeka High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in human development in 1997 and a graduate degree in school psychology in 1999. She is a school psychologist for the Auburn Washburn School District.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Overland Park. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1998 and a master’s degree in learning disabilities in 2002 from KU. He is a special education teacher at Shawnee Heights High School.
