Bernice Bruce
Beloit ? Services for Bernice Bruce, 91, Lindsborg, will be at 11 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit.
Mrs. Bruce died Wednesday, March 3, 2004.
She was born June 7, 1912, in Tipton, the daughter of Joe and Blanch (Stewart) Hachenberg. She moved in 1984 from Beloit to Lindsborg.
Mrs. Bruce was a retired teacher. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lindsborg and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit.
She married Lawrence Pottberg on Dec. 25, 1935. She later married Nelson Bruce on July 26, 1944, in Beloit. He died June 9, 1972.
Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Howard Bruce, Lawrence; six daughters, Lois Obert, Olympia, Wash., Neola Wohlbrandt, Marysville, Carol Brown, Lindsborg, Nancy Joyner, Quitman, La., Sheila Pfeifer, Hays, and Vicki Fasulo, Augusta; two sisters, Roberta Albrecht, Cookeville, Tenn., and Jean Albrecht, Stockton, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
