Berry gets restraining order

Santa Monica, Calif. — A Louisiana man was ordered to stay away from Halle Berry, who alleged that he stalked her.

Superior Court Judge Linda K. Lefkowitz granted a preliminary injunction that bars Greg Broussard from coming within 100 yards of the actress, her manager or publicist.

In a written declaration to the court, Berry, 35, alleged that the 35-year-old Baldwin, La., man “has imagined a relationship with me wherein he and I are engaged to be married and that my manager and publicist are preventing him from being with me.”

“I do not know Mr. Broussard and do not wish to have any contact with him,” she said in court papers. “The threats he has relayed make me fear for my own safety as well as those who represent me.”
