Robert E. ‘Mr. Clean’ Doughty

? Services for Robert E. “Mr. Clean” Doughty, 65, Tonganoxie, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Doughty died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at his home.

He was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Jack and Trudia Miller Doughty. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, George Thomas Webb.

He graduated from Smithville (Mo.) High School in 1957.

He retired as owner of A&S Auto Salvage and Inland Auto and Truck Service in Kansas City, Kan.

He was a member of Metropolitan Southern Baptist Church in Turner, the Abdallah Shrine in Kansas City, Kan., and a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Survivors include a son, George Thomas, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Penny Askin and Robin Doughty, both of Las Vegas; an adopted son, Timothy “Elmo” Kohler, Kansas City, Mo.; two half-brothers, Larry Doughty, Edwardsville, and Jerry Doughty, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Sandy Thogmartin, Greeley, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
