Lt. Thomas Carmody presents retired Capt. George Schaeffer a certificate received from the National Military Officers Association of America. Schaeffer received the first-place Web Master Award for 2003, Category III Chapters on Nov. 16 for his work as Web master for the Jayhawk Chapter in Lawrence.

KU Mortar Board, a senior honor society, played host to a holiday party on Dec. 10 for a group of Sunset Hill students. The groups of students have been pen pals this semester and met each other for the first time at the party. The pen pal program was started to help students develop their reading and writing skills.

After dessert and a Founder's Day program, alumnae of Kappa Kappa Gamma were presented with a commemorative gift by active chapter members. Attending the program on Oct. 20 at the chapter house were Alouise Brain, Ginny Ovenstone, Jeanne Eblen, Tammy Steeples, Nicole Flynn and Jan Barron.
