Laura and Devin Zell

Laura Dawn Odell and Devin Thomas Zell, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 9, 2003, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Charles Polifka officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Teresa Odell, Lawrence. The groom is the son of James and Katherine Zell, New Strawn.

The bride’s escort was her grandfather, Delmar Koch. Maid of honor was Robyn Tackett. Best man was James Zell Jr. Bridesmaids were Heather Odell, Janet Throop and Amber Turner. Groomsmen were Darren Odell, Ryan Odell and Reed Lewis.

Ushers were Mike Brenner and Ryan McCabe. Flower girls were Ryann and Kiri Camp. Ring bearer was Ben Patton. Lectors were Ronald Zell and Elizabeth Feckter.

A reception was given at the church.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is a Kansas University student and is employed by KU Energy Balance Laboratory.

The groom is a 1996 Burlington High School graduate. He graduated from KU in 2000 and is employed at MartinLogan.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Woodyard-Arendt

Kenda and Alfred Arendt Jr.

Kenda Woodyard and Alfred Arendt Jr., both of Kansas City, Kan., were married Aug. 2, 2003, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Devon Woodyard officiating.

The bride is the daughter of George and Eleanor Woodyard, Lawrence.

Teresa Corcoran was matron of honor. Bride’s attendants were Adonia David and Linda Curran. Carl Taylor was best man. Groomsmen were Dick Kilbride and Bernard Grossman.

Shana and Scott Stuart read Scripture passages. Music was provided by Geoffrey Wilcken and Debbie Oestmann.

Kaela Stuart and Ryson Stuart were candle lighters and played a piano duet. Emma Woodyard, Rachel Woodyard and Darra Stuart were flower girls. Joseph Woodyard and Logan Stuart were ring bearers.

Ushers were Lance Woodyard, Donald Norris and Bill Penland. Erika Woodyard and Wendy Baker were guest book attendants. Jeanne Taylor was gift table attendant.

A reception was given at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Lawrence. The couple took a honeymoon cruise to Alaska.

The bride is a 1986 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in business from Emporia State University. She is employed by Kansas University Medical Center.

The groom is a certified engineering technician. He retired from the U.S. Air Force. He owns a repair company.

The couple reside in Kansas City.

Redding-Newhouse

Jessica and Ryan Newhouse

Jessica Camin Redding and Ryan Wade Newhouse were married Aug. 23, 2003, at Ghost Ranch Conference Center, Abiquiu, N.M., with Guilford Dudley officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Nomi Redding, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Doris Newhouse, Maryville, Tenn., and Ron Newhouse, Missoula, Mont.

Maid of honor was Katherine Kline. Best man was Derek Newhouse.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, in 2003. She works at Dillard’s in Missoula, Mont.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree in literature from Maryville College, Maryville, Tenn., in 2002. He is a graduate student in environmental writing at the University of Montana.

The couple reside in Missoula, Mont.

Elizabeth D. Bretthauer, Lawrence, and Joshua Minger, Topeka, were married May 31, 2003, at Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka with the Rev. Rick McKinney officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Frank Bretthauer, Tonganoxie, and Deborah Bretthauer, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Eldon and Janice Minger, Topeka. Grandmothers are Ruth Johnson and Roberta McKinzie.

Maid of honor was Deborah Newby. Best man was Neal Rose. Bridesmaids were Melinda Bretthauer, Molly Bretthauer, Nicole Haibon and Crystal Mauney. Groomsmen were Joe Minger, Adam Anderson, Ryan Boden and Kyle Wilson. Jaered Long was ring bearer. Christina Bunch was flower girl.

A reception was given in Topeka. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Palm Springs, Calif.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is a senior at Washburn University, majoring in business administration. She works for US Bank in Topeka.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Seaman High School, Topeka. He received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in May 2003. He is employed by Budweiser Distribution in Topeka.

The couple reside in Topeka.

The bride is the daughter of Joyce Chenoweth, St. Louis. The groom is the son of Lewis and Charlene Tilford, Lawrence.

The bride’s attendants were Mike Smith, Don Smith and Cathy Smith. The groom’s attendants were Todd Tilford, Eric Tilford and Stephen Tilford.

Flower bearers were Leah Smith, Marissa Smith, Danielle Tilford and Cheyenne Tilford. Vocalists were Loren Smith and Lewis Tilford.

The bride is a graduate of McCluer Senior High School, St. Louis, and the University of Missouri. She is an art buyer at Momentum Advertising World Wide.

The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Kansas University. He is an owner of CORE Advertising Agency, St. Louis.
