Landis lifts Seabury boys to victory

? Aaron Landis’ basket with two seconds left lifted Lawrence Seabury Academy to a 40-38 high school boys basketball victory Monday over Midland Adventist.

The Seahawks played without two starters, Grayson Dillon and Matt Parker, who probably will be out of the lineup all year. Dillon broke his thumb in practice Monday. Parker found out Tuesday that he had a collapsed lung.

“We found out basically in the last day that we lost two starters for the year,” Seabury coach Marcus Heckman said. “To win on the road in such adversity shows what type of players we have.”

Landis led Seabury with 18 points. Kris Finger added eight and Adam Davis contributed seven.

Seabury (3-6) will next play host to Flint Hills Christian Friday.
