Chantal E. Anderson
Services for Chantal E. Anderson, 25, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lawrence Holidome. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Anderson died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, in a car accident on U.S. Highway 40 west of Lawrence.
She was born June 28, 1978, in Durango, Colo., the daughter of Brian D. “Chip” and Vickie (Young) Anderson. In 1997 she graduated from Lawrence High School, where she participated in cross country, track and choir. She graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and was a graduate student in the KU health, sport and exercise sciences department.
Ms. Anderson was a graduate teaching assistant at KU and taught Tae Kwon Do at New Horizons. She also taught kickboxing, was a certified athletic trainer and was a member of National Athletic Trainers Assn. She was a fourth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Survivors include her parents, of the home; paternal grandparents, Dean and Verna Anderson, Grand Junction, Colo.; maternal grandfather, Harold Young, Durango, Colo.; and her best friend, J.P. Merz.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
