Florence ‘Elizabeth’ Lollar Yoos
Graveside services for Florence “Elizabeth” Lollar Yoos, 87, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia.
Mrs. Yoos died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Alicia, Ark., the daughter of Nathaniel Greene and Mattie (Huggins) Lollar. She grew up in Nashville, Tenn., and graduated from East High School. She had lived in Lawrence for almost six years.
Mrs. Yoos served in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE during World War II. She had been a member of Tulip Street United Methodist Church in Nashville. She owned Yoos Home Furnishings and was a member of the American Legion Post, both in Emporia.
She married Earl A. Yoos in 1946 in Wichita. He died June 9, 1971.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Yoos, Lawrence, and Ralph Edward Yoos, Powder Springs, Ga.; a sister, Cecilia Clarice Moore, Marietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Douglas County or the church, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
