Barta-Sanders

Catherine Marie Barta, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Curtis Bradley Sanders, Aspen, Colo., were married Sept. 28, 2002, at the St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, N.M.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Barta, Edmond, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Randal Colton, Oklahoma City, Okla. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. J. Alan Sanders, Lawrence.

The gentleman of honor was Joey Barta. Best man was Karl Sanders.

The honorary party included Blaire Barta, Brie Elkouri, Kari Autry, Greer Colon, Amy Starke and Jordan Jacobs.

Garrett Colton and Graham Colton were readers. Brock Barta and Josh Taaca were ushers.

A reception was at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum Cafe.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Crescent Academy and a 1999 graduate of Oklahoma City University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in general business.

The groom is a 1983 Lawrence High School graduate. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas University in 1988 and a juris doctorate from the University of Colorado in 1993. He is involved in private law practice.

The couple reside in Aspen, Colo.

Blomquist-Nadvornik

Sarah Blomquist and Charlie Nadvornik, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 24, 2002, at the Lincoln Park Gardens of Kenosha, Wis., with Larry Sherraden officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Valarie Blomquist, Kenosha, Wis. The groom is the son of Ron and Sally Nadvornik, Lawrence.

Maids of honor were Lisa Blomquist and Elisabeth ErkenBrack. Bridesmaids were Tisara Holden, Sarah Gaynier, Bethany Geiger and Sarah Sutter. Best men were Greg Nadvornik and Pat Nadvornik. Groomsmen were Jared Hermann, Scott Jensen, Erik Blomquist and Brian Blomquist.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wis. She is employed by Shane M. Jones and Associates in Lawrence.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1997 graduate of Kansas University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is employed by The Hamm Cos. in Perry.

After an Alaskan cruise honeymoon, the couple reside in Lawrence.

Siemsen-Miley

Cody Siemsen and David Miley, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 3, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, with the Rev. Galen Long officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Cary and Ann Siemsen, Colby. The groom is the son of Brendan and Linda Miley, Independence, Mo. Grandparents of the couple are Al and Kit Gerstner, Colby; Bruce and Donna Siemsen, Holyrood; Jan Siemsen, San Antonio; Hollis and Lola Smith, Independence, Mo., and the late Earl and Iris Miley.

The bride was escorted by her father. Maids of honor were Andrea Siemsen and Lindsey Cox. Bridesmaid was Michelle Piper. Best man was Tim Nielsen. Groomsmen were Greg Schieber and Nathan Shyver.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School, Colby Community College and Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in history. She is employed by LabOne in Lenexa.

The groom graduated from Blue Springs High School, Blue Springs, Mo., and is a graduate of the KU School of Pharmacy. He is employed as a pharmacist at Osco Drug in Kansas City.

Following a honeymoon vacation in Maui, the couple reside in Overland Park.

Lungstrum-Blackburn

Jordan Elizabeth Lungstrum and James Tanner Blackburn, both of Chicago, were married Oct. 5, 2002, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Peter Luckey officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John and Linda Lungstrum, Lawrence. The groom is the son of James and Leslie Blackburn, Encinitas, Calif.

Maid of honor was Alison Lungstrum. Best man was Casey Blackburn.

The bride is a 1994 Lawrence High School graduate and a 1998 graduate of Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt. She is an administrator of educational partnerships at the Field Museum in Chicago.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Torrey Pines High School, Del Mar, Calif. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1998. He received a master’s degree in civil engineering from Northwestern University in 2002. He is pursuing a doctoral degree in civil engineering at Northwestern University, Chicago.

The couple reside in Chicago.

The bride is the daughter of Jean and Francis Hendricks, Abilene. The groom is the son of Howard and Sarah Abts, Toledo, Ohio.

The groom is a 1996 Findlay High School graduate and a 2000 Macalester College graduate. He attends the University of Minnesota where he is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
