KU alumna in cast of ‘Charlie Brown’

Kansas University alumna Lauren Stanford is among cast members of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” playing Friday-Aug. 25 at American Heartland Theatre in Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd.

The show is based on the “Peanuts” comic strip. Stanford plays Sally.

Chamber concerts set in KC churches

Kansas City, Mo. A series of Summerfest chamber music concerts will be performed in July at two Kansas City churches.

The concerts will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 20 and 27 at Westport Presbyterian Church, 201 Westport Road, and 5 p.m. July 7, 14, 21 and 28 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church 13th and Holmes.

Summerfest musicians are Nancy Beckmann and Mary Garcia, violin; Michael Kimber and Jessica Nance, viola; Alexander East, cello; Shannon Finney, flute; Susan Brashier, oboe; Jane Carl, clarinet; Joshua Hood and Nancy Lutes, bassoon; Kelly Cornell, French horn; Melissa Rose, piano; Marie Rubis Bauer, harpischord; Deborah Wells Clark, harp; and Rebecca Lloyd, soprano.

Tickets are $17.50 for adults and $15 for senior citizens and students. Children under 12 are free. Tickets can be ordered by calling Central Ticket Office, (816) 235-6222.
