Florence D. Westblade

Mrs. Westblade died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Pomona.

She was born Aug. 5, 1918, in Windom, the daughter of Fredrick H. and Gertrude J. (Olson) Hall. She had been a resident of Pomona the past two years. She earlier had lived in Smithville, Mo., and Lindsborg.

Mrs. Westblade was a teacher.

She married Clifford E. Westblade on July 24, 1939, in New Gottland. He died March 30, 1971.

Survivors include four sons, Wayne Westblade, Syracuse, Howard Westblade, Memphis, Tenn., Williard Westblade, Denver, and Marlon Westblade, Smithville, Mo.; two daughters, Virgie Christy, Pomona, and Melanie Westblade, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Iola Horner, Marquette; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hays-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
