Ruth May Chamberlin

Services for Ruth May Chamberlin, 78, Lawrence, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Denton Cemetery.

Mrs. Chamberlin died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at her home.

She was born May 15, 1924, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Clara (Fundenberg) Stafford. She graduated from McClure (Ohio) High School. She was formerly of Everest.

Mrs. Chamberlin was a retired history and government teacher.

She and her husband also owned and operated A & D Fabric Shop in Hiawatha.

Mrs. Chamberlin was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Atchison, and Eastern Star, Huron.

She married Herbert Chamberlin in 1943. He died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Gilman, Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Glenn Chamberlin, Everest; a brother, Dillard Stafford, Las Vegas; a sister, Clara Scarberry, Napoleon, Ohio; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
