The Siberian State Symphony Orchestra has canceled a series of tour performances, including one at the Lied Center, because of visa issues.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services denied the symphony’s work-visa petition, according to the Lied Center’s website.

Derek Kwan, executive director at the Lied Center, said he is sorry the orchestra will not be able to come on March 3, as scheduled, and thanked the community for its understanding.

The Lied Center was not immediately able to say how many tickets it had already sold for the concert. Those who bought tickets can contact the Lied Center ticket office at 785-864-2787 before April 3 to receive a refund or credit, the center’s website said.
