For those in the market for anything from paintings to nail polish strips for fingers, this Saturday’s Spring Arts & Crafts Festival might be just the place.

The annual event hosted by the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department and Sports Pavilion Lawrence will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane.

About 140 booth spaces have been rented, with vendors selling a wide array of items such as art, food, woodwork and cosmetics, according to Jenna Irey, an administrative support worker at Holcom Park Recreation Center.

“We expect that 6,000 to 8,000 people will come through,” Irey said.

Concessions will be available at the site.

The spring event is one of five arts and craft festivals sponsored by Lawrence Parks and Rec throughout the year, Irey said. Summer Fest and the Fall Arts and Crafts Fair are held outdoors in South Park. Along with the spring show, the Holiday Bazaar and Holiday Extravaganza are indoor events.

Irey said the weather wasn’t warm enough this year to have the spring show outdoors.
