A different kind of Douglas County Fair

Residents may be seeing activity at the Douglas County Fairgrounds this week, but most won’t see a normal fair.

Members of local 4-H clubs are showing their exhibits, but the shows are closed to the general public because of the pandemic. Other traditional fair events, such as the carnival and the demolition derby, also have been cancelled.

However, people wanting to see 4-H members and their livestock projects can get a glimpse through a new virtual auction process the fair is using. See below to learn more about that process and to see a complete list of area youth who are participating.
