Kathleen & David Miller

Kathleen V. Ammel, Lawrence, and David G. Miller, Eudora, were married on February 22, 2019. Kansas District Court Judge James R. McCabria performed the ceremony in his courtroom. Several family members and friends were present.

Dr. Ammel is a KU graduate with a BA in Biology. Her doctorate in optometry was earned at Indiana University, Bloomington. She owns and operates Ammel Optometry LLC in Ottawa. She and the late Mark Dunham are the parents of Samantha Dunham, who is a junior at Veritas Christian School. Dr. Ammel is the immediate past chair of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee. Miller is also a KU graduate. He and the late Marjorie (Zwiers) Miller owned and operated Miller Agency Insurance in Eudora for over 30 years. Miller served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1980 to 1990. He is a past chair of the Kansas Republican Party.

The Christ Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church recently held a special reception to honor the couple. They are at home at 2901 Atchison Circle, Lawrence.
