Martha and Ralph Gage recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner with family and friends at the Adams Alumni Center.
Martha Ann Senter and Ralph D. Gage Jr. were married Nov. 23, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Ottawa.
Ralph retired in August after more than 40 years with The World Company, where for many years he was chief operating officer. He continues to be a member of the company’s board of directors. Prior to that he worked at newspapers in Salina, Kan., and East St. Louis, Ill.
Martha retired earlier after a career in education. She taught elementary school in Salina and later headed the education department at Ottawa University, where she worked 15 years, taught at Mid-America Nazarene University, and was head of the teacher education and licensure department at the Kansas State Department of Education, where she worked for 10 years.
The Gages have two children, Susan, Tualatin, Ore., and Paul, Washington,
D.C., and two grandchildren, Sam and Abby, of Tualatin.
