Gerald and Birtie Tilley, Berryton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family.
The couple were married May 27, 1961, in Fitzhugh, Okla.
Gerald was a high school chemistry teacher. He later became the principal at Fairfield High School and was also the principal at Eudora High School and Shawnee Heights Middle School. Birtie was an elementary school teacher in the De Soto, Wellsville and Auburn-Washburn school districts.
They have a son, Kyle, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Tilley, Overland Park; a daughter, Lori Troilo, and son-in-law, Mark, Rose Hill; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
