Ellen Doherty Cockrell and Kevin Michael Rooney, both of Baton Rouge, La., were married Oct. 10, 2009, in Perdido Key, Fla., with the Rev. Darren McClellan officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Anthony Doherty, Plano, Texas, and the late Ann Myers.
The groom is the son of George and Mary Lou Rooney, Lawrence.
The bride was given away by her son, Rick Cockrell. The bride’s personal attendants were Karen Stanmore and Jill Beaty.
A reception was given at Oyster Bar Restaurant and Marina in Perdido Key.
The bride is a graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, La., and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Louisiana State University. She is the parish administrator for Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge.
The groom is also a graduate of Broadmoor High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wichita State University. He is employed in retail sales in Baton Rouge.
The couple reside in Baton Rouge.
