Hagen

Charles and Kathy Hagen, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 28 at West Side Presbyterian Church, 1024 Kasold Drive.
Charles Hagen and Kathy Sullivan were married May 31, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
The couple moved to Lawrence in 1961. Charles worked for the U.S. Postal Service starting as a railway mail clerk and later retired from the station manager position at the Jayhawk Post Office on 23rd Street. Kathy volunteered at school, 4-H, church and community groups and was a homemaker. She started Prairie Flowers, and her husband joined her as the grower when he retired from the post office. The 20-year business sells cut flowers at the Lawrence Farmers’ Market. They are active members of West Side Presbyterian Church.
They have three daughters, Esther Wisdom and husband Alan, Falls Church, Va., Kathy Kapplemann and husband Tom, Lenexa, and Beth Key and husband Brian, Wichita; a son, Charlie and wife Laura KingHagen, Overland Park; and seven grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.
