Norman and Doris John, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, hosted by their daughters and grandchildren, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at Southside Church of Christ, 1105 W. 25th St.
The couple were married Aug. 16, 1959, in Garden City.
Norman worked with Stephens Insurance and retired in 2007. He recently went back to work at DCI. Doris worked as a nurse in various doctors’ offices and at Brandon Woods. The couple have lived in Lawrence for 35 years.
They have two daughters, Cheryl Bell and Pam Robertson, both of Lawrence; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.
