Theron and Dixie Harper, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday. A card shower will be hosted by their children. The couple is planning a trip to Branson, Mo.
Theron Harper and Dixie Deems were married July 17, 1949, at the home of the bride’s parents in Butler, Mo.
The couple own and operate Deems Farm Equipment Inc., the John Deere dealership in Lawrence.
They have three sons, T. Kevin and wife Becky, Eudora, Rod and wife Barbara Woodruff, Overbrook, and the late S. Kyle, who died in June 1995; two daughters, Kathi Hunsinger and husband Chris, Baldwin City, and Libby Spring and husband Jim, Eudora; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
