Forrest and Susie Budd, Lawrence, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. A dinner is planned for a later date.
Forrest Budd and Susie Rogers were married July 15, 1939, in Lawrence, and have continued to maintain their home here.
Forrest attended Kansas University from 1937 to 1939. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor in 1976, after 35 years of service. Susie is a homemaker; she worked part-time at Cole’s Grocery for a number of years.
The couple requests no gifts.
