Hill and Hill

Lindsay Rene Sowder, Toronto, and John Howard Hill III, Lawrence, were married June 6, 2009, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple in Wichita, with the Rev. Ira DeSpain officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Cheryl Sowder, Toronto.
The groom is the son of John II and Debra Lee Hill, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Stephanie Nelson. Best man was the groom’s father. Bridesmaids were Christyn Haberly, Kaylee Mann and Jennifer Heim. Groomsmen were Leo Monterrey, Craig Frydendall and Brad Stroud. Flower girls were Corinne Nelson and Avery Nelson. Ringbearer was Sutton Nelson. Ushers were Jamie Nelson, Ben Smith, Kyle Nichols, Ibraheem Suberu, Scott Cleland, Paul Nuzum, Dane Hill and Jason Clemensen. Candlelighters were Rani Aguilar, Kristen Gerdel and Holly Van Cleave. Readers were Bob Berends and Emma Meador. Gift attendants were Hannah Van Cleave, Hope Van Cleave and Addison Van Cleave. Guest book attendants were Alyssa Cleland and Angel Nuzum. Program attendants were Micaela Hill and Jillian Hill. Cake attendants were Becky Smith, Karen Hall and Nancy Van Cleave. Bride’s personal attendant was Karla Lira. Videographer was Riann Deere.
A reception followed at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Eureka (Kan.) Junior/Senior High School and earned an associate degree from Neosho County Community College in 2000, a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in physical education in 2003, and a master’s degree in physical education, both from Pittsburg State University in 2004. She is the assistant volleyball coach at Pittsburg State.
The groom is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School, and earned associate degrees from Highland Community College, a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in physical education from Baker University in 2002, and a master’s degree in physical education in 2005 from Pittsburg State. He is the head baseball coach at Fort Scott Community College.
The couple reside in Fort Scott.
