Emily Lowrance-Floyd and Matthew Gaus, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Martin Floyd and Becky Lowrance, and the future groom is the son of Phil and Gail Gaus, all of Lawrence.
Emily graduated from Lawrence High School in 1998. She received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Carleton College in 2002 and a Master of Arts in history from Kansas University in 2006. She is pursuing a doctorate in history at KU.
Matthew graduated from LHS in 1997 and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from KU in 2001. He also received a juris doctorate from KU in 2006. He is an attorney at Thompson Ramsdell & Qualseth P.A. in Lawrence.
The couple plan a Jan. 19, 2008, wedding at Liberty Hall in Lawrence.
