Douglas County adds fewer than 10 new COVID cases over the weekend

Douglas County’s coronavirus numbers continue to drop; fewer than 10 new COVID-19 cases have been added to the tally since Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health’s last update on Friday.
As of Monday afternoon, the county had 118 active COVID cases, a drop of 24 since Friday. Along with nine new cases added over the weekend, the county has had 25,293 COVID cases since March 2020.
Hospitalizations also remain low; only one patient was hospitalized for COVID at LMH Health as of Monday, down from two on Friday.
Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health continues to encourage community members to follow updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance and also urges them to get vaccinated. The health department administers vaccinations and booster doses at the clinic on the first floor of the Community Health Building, 200 Maine St., for adults and for eligible children.
