Douglas County adds more than 800 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday
Douglas County has seen 838 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, according to an update from Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.
That comes just days after the county recorded 916 cases between Monday and Wednesday. The county currently has 4,867 active cases of COVID-19 and is averaging 276.86 new cases per day for the past 14 days — a new high.
The average COVID-19 test positivity rate in the county is now at 23.9%.
Friday’s update showed that 72,308 Douglas County residents, or 63.3% of the county’s eligible population, had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 33,833 people had received a booster dose. Those numbers were unchanged from Wednesday’s update.
