Business Briefcase: 11th Annual Joseph Gellings Memorial Clay Shoot to Support Veterans’ Mental Health

The Lawrence Board of REALTORS® President Bailey Stuart invites the community to come together for the 11th Annual Joseph Gellings Memorial Clay Shoot — a tradition that unites Douglas County around a cause that matters: supporting veterans’ mental health and suicide prevention.

Hosted at Cedar Hill Gun Club in Baldwin City, the event has raised more than $70,000 over the past decade for the Semper Fi Fund, a nationally respected nonprofit focused on veteran suicide prevention and mental health programs.

Stuart, a REALTOR® with McGrew Real Estate and a fifth-generation Douglas Countian, emphasized the deep local ties and powerful impact of the event.

“This is the kind of local action that changes lives,” Stuart said. “It shows the strength and heart of Douglas County. Supporting our veterans is deeply personal to me, and I hope everyone will come out, connect, and be part of something bigger than themselves.”
