State law requires residents of a county to be notified of a lot of different legal matters that are underway at any given time. That includes pending foreclosures of homes, new ordinances proposed by local governments, legal name changes of your neighbors, and even the sales that dispose of property in storage units with unpaid bills.

Those items and many others appear in the Legal Notice section of the print edition of the Journal-World. They also appear in the classified section of LJWorld.com, but to make the notices even more accessible we publish this article each Wednesday that highlights the last week’s worth of legal notices.

For the week ending: September 20, 2025 there were 31 legal notices published, including 6 from the City of Lawrence, 1 from Douglas County, 1 from The City of Baldwin City, and 23 from private parties.
