Douglas County has now reported 588 cases of COVID-19

Douglas County has reported 588 cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, an increase of 27 cases since 2 p.m. Thursday.

In Douglas County, 483 out of the 588 cases are inactive or beyond the infectious period, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health.

Three patients at Lawrence’s hospital had COVID-19 on Friday, one fewer than Thursday.

On Wednesday the health department announced that two people in Douglas County had died from COVID-19 or with the virus as a contributing factor in their deaths.
