Motel noise complaint turns into much more
Ever wonder what motel workers do to occupy their time in the middle of the night? I'm sure they stay busy - perhaps even worrying something unfortunate could happen. But this?Early this morning, a motel clerk was going to check out a room full of noisy guests when he got a rude surprise. He was punched in the face.It happened this morning at 4:03 a.m., at [Westminster Inn, 2525 W. Sixth Street][1].When the clerk asked three males in the room to quiet down, a 15-year-old in the room punched the guy, according to a Lawrence Police report. When police got there, the three guests ran away. Only the 15-year-old was caught. Police are still looking for the other men.I'd say that motel clerk definitely earned his pay last night. It's a blog (which has vastly different styles than a traditional article). But the incident itself IS strange indeed.

Just because it's a blog is no excuse for poor writing. This is two days in a row this guy's done that.

Yeah. This is an example of how blogs should either 1. not tackle crime reporting or 2. frame it in an un-journalistic and more “gossipy” way. I highly doubt the police report was informal. But…the question remains…did the Journal World cover this? Could a little more investigating break a crime?

Nice shot at Topeka. You guys have had plenty of crime latley and none of it has anything to do with Topeka. Start blaming your own local idiots, every town has them. Including you.
