Abortion debate focuses on Sebelius

In a column published in Monday’s Washington Post, Robert Novak takes aim at the pro-choice views of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and how it might affect her chances of becoming Sen. Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate.Novak’s harsh assessment, however, may be a positive thing for Sebelius according to Washington Post political blogger Chris Cillizza who said the Novak column raises Sebelius’ national profile and “affirms her Democratic bona fides.”On Wednesday, Los Angeles Times columnist Tim Rutten joined the conversation, calling the Novak column “an absurd attack on a Democratic rising star.”
