Insurance commissioner experience a plus for Sebelius

With health care a primary concern across the nation, American voters shouldn’t overlook the fact that Gov. Kathleen Sebelius previously served as the Kansas Insurance Commissioner and blocked a merger involving Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Darrell Delamaide at MarketWatch says, especially in a strugging economy, that experience might tip the balance for Sebelius in Sen. Barack Obama’s consideration of running mates.¢¢¢ The Press Association, the national news agency of the UK and Ireland, also is watching the vice presidential race. Sebelius still is in the running, they say, but a Democratic ticket that doesn’t include a white man “would be a radical choice.”
