Sebelius sounding vice presidential?
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, took a page out of Barack Obama's theme of unity, when she interrupted Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, who seemed to be heading toward remarks that may have been dismissive about Republicans.Sebelius and Dean were participating in a brief telephone news conference to announce that Obama would make his speech to accept the Democratic nomination for president [at 75,000-seat Invesco Field in Denver][1], rather than the [party's national convention hall][2], which will be in a smaller arena.Dean and Sebelius, [who is co-chairwoman of the convention][3], said the new speech location would give more people a chance to hear Obama and represented the inclusive nature of his candidacy.Would Republicans be welcome, asked a reporter. Dean started getting on a roll about how the nomination was a Democratic Party process, and people shouldn't expect it to be open to the GOP when Sebelius, who has been mentioned as a possible vice presidential running mate, interrupted and said she believed there would be a lot of Republicans there because Obama has attracted voters from both parties and independents.Dean then said he liked Sebelius' answer better than his own. I've said this before and I'll say it again...having lived in several states, every 4 years, people in EVERY state think THEIR governor is a good candidate for VP. Tell me what Obama could possibly gain by naming Sebelius as VP? She blew it with the Democratic response...slow, boring, and not very "vice presidential" at all. Also, what possible thing does he have to gain? Winning over a state with barely the population of Los Angeles, and thus almost no electoral votes? That will get him nowhere. She saved Howard Dean from saying something stupid...good job, that's definitely hard to do! But...VP, really? I'll put my life on "absolutely no".

This just in from The Star. Governor Roundheels is pushing for Republican turncoat Mark Parkinson over tried and true Democrat Dennis McKinney."Sebelius helps ParkinsonGovernor Kathleen Sebelius is trying to funnel money away from Minority Leader Dennis McKinney and into the hands of Lt. Governor Mark Parkinson. This is no surprise, as Parkinson is the "chosen" successor, and McKinney has always been a hitch in the Sebelius agenda. The talk is, the governor is making it clear to donors and lobbyists that she wants McKinney out of House Leadership, and strapped for cash."What kind of a fink tries to bankrupt her own Minority Leader to promote a Republicrat scoundrel like Parkinson (he who helped Morrison out during his first sexual misadventure, and then forgot to mention it to anyone lest Chris Biggs get the AG's office. No wonder Roundheels want some Republicans there. She wants some of her pals around.

Yeah, that's not from "The Star" - it is from the Stay Red Kansas blog, which is about as accurate as Pravda. The Star - for some strange reason - thinks that is a credible blog to quote, as does Uhlrick, apparently.

"I've said this before and I'll say it again:having lived in several states, every 4 years, people in EVERY state think THEIR governor is a good candidate for VP." Boeing.Amen.She may be a nice lady, but there is no political benefit for Obama to pick a VP from a tiny red state.
