Sebelius won’t sign approval of Kline appointment

Kathleen Sebelius isn’t signing Phill Kline’s appointment as the next Johnson County district attorney. The absence of her formal signature doesn’t stop Kline from taking office next month, however. Under Kansas law, her signature would have been merely a formality. Kansas Legislature(Wichita Eagle) Landwehr winner after recount: State Rep. Brenda Landwehr emerged victorious Wednesday after a manual recount of ballots in the race for the 91st House District seat. The recount was the first paper-trail audit of new voting machines in Sedgwick County that have been in use since June.
