The Weekly Round Up
Here are some of the deals I see around town this week. Please share what finds you come up with!
I plan menus for my family every week based on what I have on hand...then I shop for produce and what I need to fill in the gaps...as well as for the best deals so I can replenish my pantry. You can see my menus every week at Super Jenn and get an idea of how I make this concept work for my family...and see that you really CAN feed your family a nutritional, well balanced diet while using coupons!
The deals at Dillon's this week are mainly the same as they were last week due to their "Cart Buster Event". You can read what I wrote about those last week. This will go at least through Tuesday but I have a suspicion this deal will last at least one more week.
In addition to those deals a couple of things that caught my eye were:
Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce $0.77/ea. Normally $0.95/ea so this is a better sale than the 10/$10 they had a few weeks ago.
Sarah Lee Honey Wheat Bread $1.66
Use the $0.55/1 (2-21 RP) and when this is doubled you can get bread for $0.66/ea. This is a good item to stock up on if you have the freezer space.
Barilla Pasta $0.77/ea (assorted varieties)
I'm not sure which "varieties" are included but there are three different coupons from 3-7 Smart Source that would make this a freebie. If its free and you use pasta, this is another great item to stock up on!
Fast Fixin' Chicken Breast Strips are on sale for $1.50/ea through the end of the month.
October, January and March issues of All You Magazine all have coupons that will bring these as low as $.025/each.
You can sign up at Fast Fixin' and receive coupons that will make this a great deal as well.
HyVee has Strawberries for $1.38/16oz. I got these and made some yumma smoothies for my kids this week.
Del Monte canned Fruit $0.99/ea Use $1/5 from 2-7 Red Plum to get these for $0.79/ea
HyVee Brand Frozen Blueberries, Cherry Berry Blend or Strawberries are $1.88/16oz
I will stock up on these as my family devours Blueberry Muffins when I make them!
If you are a fan of Kellogg's breakfast products you are in luck at Target this week:
Buy 4 selected Varieties at 4/$10 and get a $5 Target Gift Card back.
Buy 4 Frosted Mini Wheats varieties
Use 2 $1.50/2 printable coupons Here
FP 4/$2 or $0.50/ea after coupons and Gift Cards
Walgreen's brand disposable diapers are on sale this week for $5.99/ea. I've used these diapers before and I was really pleased with them...both very absorbent and they seemed pliable enough for the kids.
CVS has Cover Girl Outlast or Shineblast Lipcolor for $8 and you get $3 ECB. There is a limit of 2. This could be free or a moneymaker: Buy 2
Use B1 face product G1 free (2-7 P&G)
Use $2.50/2 Any Cover Girl Product (2-7 P&G)
Get 2 LipColors and $6 ECB
FP- $0.50 Overage after Coupons and ECB
(I'm not sure if this will work...you may have to use the $1/1 Cover Girl from same insert bringing your final price to $1.00 for two after ECB and coupons)
I'm not a big fan of mail in rebates....mostly because I have really poor follow through (hey...at least I know this about myself)...but here is one for $25 in savings from ConAgra when you spend $10.
This Tuesday Disney's Princess and the Frog will be released in stores. You can get a $10/1 DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Pack Printable HERE and you can also find a $5 Mail In Rebate from Band Aid HERE. If you purchase the DVD at CVS this week you will also receive $3 in Extra Care Bucks.
As you are getting ready for St. Patrick's Day be sure to get your FREE St. Patty's Day craft and recipe eBook
On top of clipping the coupons you get in today's LJWorld (remember just because you don't use them today doesn't mean you won't use them in the coming weeks!) be sure to check out all of the printable coupons available Here, Here, and HERE.

Jenn, I am not sure the Sara Lee coupon will work on the honey wheat. The coupon is good only on the Soft & Smooth bread, Buns or mini bagels (which sucks because the regular bagels are on sale & I need to stock up on bagels). I checked the Dillons ad & it just shows the classic honey wheat on sale.
Hy-Vee is doing a 2 day sale which has whole chickens for $.59/lb.
Hy-Vee also has a 3lb bag of onions for $.99 with their online coupon. You can print it off on their website.
Fresh Step scoopable cat litter (25lb) is on sale for $8.88. Use the 3/14 Smart Source insert coupon for $1/1 & it will be $7.88.

Thanks for the rebate links!
I was excited about the ConAgra one but it is only good at Walmart and I don't shop there. However for those that do, this looks to be a good rebate.

I didn't see any Barilla coupons in the 3/7 Smart Source.

I didn't locate them either. Darn! It must be a regional difference. Even the KC paper didn't have them. $.77/box is still a fairly good price though.

Wouldn't the Hunt's spaghetti sauce still be a better deal at the regular price of $0.95 each than $1 each in a 10/$10 sale?! lol.

Isn't it so stupid that stores pull these types of stunts?
One should be an alert consumer but it is easy to get distracted if you are in a hurry when shopping. That is one of the really good things couponing has taught me - to pay attention. By planning my meals out and shopping that way, it forces me to pay more attention to the actual prices of products and also to the marketing tricks that some pull.
SuperJenn (Jenn Hethcoat) says…
PopcoRN,
Absolutely. That was my point :). Like Katara said, you have to be very aware when you are shopping and planning!

Katara, It does work. I used it last week when it was 1.77.

The form for the ConAgra rebate says "Your local SuperCenter receipt" because this is a deal through All You Magazine...which is strictly a Wal Mart publication. I've done a little research and it appear you do NOT have to have done the shopping at Wal Mart...nor does it all have to be on one receipt. On HotCouponWorld there are a couple of threads and people who have received their coupon booklets from shopping at Food Lion and Kroger.
These are the coupons that are in the coupon book:
$1/5 Hunts Tomato Sauce
$1/4 Hunts Diced Tomatoes
$1/2 Peter Pan (28 oz or larger)
$1/2 Kid Cuisine
$1/1 Wesson Canola Oil (48 oz or larger)
$1/1 Egg Beaters (15 oz or larger)
$1/4 Van Camp's Pork & Beans
$1/2 Manwich
$1/2 Fleischmann's Original Soft Spread
$1/1 Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers
$1/2 Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees
$1/2 healthy Choice Select Entrees
$1/2 healthy Choice Complete Meals
$1/2 Healthy Choice Microwaveable Soup
$1/1 Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers
$1/1 Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop!
$1/3 RoTel
Not the best coupons ever... I'm not a fan of "off of two...three..whatever" type coupons :)
however... i have a large number of "Get One Free" ConAgra coupons that I got from attending a conference this spring and I fully intend to use them to get the coupon book!!
The Sara Lee coupon should give you no trouble at Dillon's this week. :)
Katara (anonymous) says…
I probably have a different Sara Lee coupon because the one I have is marked "Save $.55 on any Soft & Smooth Bread, Buns or Mini Bagels and the Classic Honey Wheat is not part of those groups :( Mine doesn't have the magic phrase of "on any one (insert brand name) product".
But I'm glad whichever one you had worked out to be a good deal for you. We go through a lot of bread for lunches around here but I still have a few loaves in the freezer to last me for a while.
Thanks for the tip about OneHotCouponWorld. I sometimes forget to check them!
