Decision on flat screen TV is two years in the making … and counting
I’m not a big football fan, but we are coming to that one big day when everyone seems to get into the spirit — Super Bowl Sunday. I won’t be hosting any festivities, as it’s an away weekend for my son’s hockey team, but in looking through Sunday’s ads, there’s lots to get you started on a fun menu.
Now along with all the fun foods, it’s a “big” TV weekend as well. This is evident through all the TVs advertised in today’s Lawrence Journal-World.
My husband has been shopping for a flat screen TV for two years. Every time we think he’s close to making a decision on a purchase, he comes up with some excuse not to buy. Our family room TV is only 5 years old. But we need to replace another TV which is 24 years old. Yes, we’ve had it since we got married. It still works, but you can’t tell what color anything is, because the picture has a greenish tint.
The funny thing is my husband is a very decisive man. I’m usually the one who ponders before making a decision. Did he have this problem when we were purchasing a car or house? Absolutely not. But this TV thing has been dragging for a long time. Check out this Consumer Reports link for tips on buying an LCD TV.
I guess I’m partly writing this particular blog for selfish reasons — in the hopes that my husband will read it and finally make a decision.
